Avijit Patra is 30 years old and lives in Howrah, India and is a MCA (Masters in Computer Application) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Born on 30th December 1975, in Kolkata, (India), I moved to Howrah. Apart from traveling all over India with my family, I have spent my entire life in Howrah & Kolkata. After completing my schooling from Vivekananda Institution, Howrah; I graduated in science from Narasinha Dutta College. After graduation I joined IGNOU to do masters in computer application. I co founded LINUXjunkies Foundation along with other even minded people on December 2003 with the aim of spreading awareness and educating people about Linux and FREE/Open Source software. In the end of 2004, I found that most of the FLOSS ( free libre and open source) user groups were lacking FREE hosting place to carry on there activities. To help with this I co founded www.swatantranet.com that provides absolutely FREE web hosting that has all features to make life easy for the user groups.

Today, I am a System Administrator of web hosting company and even have done remote projects to a well known Data Centre. I specialize in Linux based web server remote administrations and security auditing and vulnerability testing. I have been working as a TIER 3 Level 1 System Administrator for various well known web hosting and dedicated server vendor companies ( names can not be mentioned as a part of the Non-Disclosure Agreement with them ).

My goal is to become a accomplished administrator seeking to leverage extensive background in Server management and troubleshooting, security and benefits administration in a high-level system and network administration position. Extremely motivated for career change goal and eager to contribute to a company's concerned department.

More then 2 years in the IT industry, I believe I have learnt only a  few bits of the Computer technologies. Nothing to be proud of. But I believe that it has taught me something. Yes something. Working under the great tree of the Free/ Open Source Softwares helped me to learn new things everyday and I am proud to have only worked in the Free/ Open Source Softwares. I know that as the day passes I will learn much faster here as the future is Open here. I always get amazed as I traverse new aspects of GNU/Linux.

Planning to start a Free Forum Hosting Service to Linux User Groups from all over the world and a complete Linux Training Portal that will provide reliable and complete knowledge to the students and give value for money. I have strong willingness to work as a marketing strategy developer and server admin of various hosting companies that are starting their business. Have been actively writing technical and marketing contents for web hosting companies and user groups.
